1. Introduction

Welcome to the public informational website for Neurodiverse Psychological Services ("we," "us," or "our"). This Website Privacy Policy describes how we handle information in connection with our website, located at www.npsmadison.com (the "Website"). Our Website provides general information about our psychology practice based in Wisconsin.

Please read this Website Privacy Policy carefully. By using our Website, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy.

2. Scope of This Policy

This Website Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected through our Website. It does not apply to information collected through other means, such as in-person communications, telephone calls, or the provision of clinical psychological services, which are governed separately by our Notice of Privacy Practices under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

IMPORTANT: This Website is not a means of receiving or transmitting clinical or therapeutic communications. Use of this Website does not create any psychologist-patient relationship or therapist-patient relationship between you and Neurodiverse Psychological Services, its owner, or its staff.

3. Information We Do Not Collect

Our Website is designed to minimize data collection. Specifically, we DO NOT collect, store, or process the following through our Website:

  • Personal identifying information (such as your name, address, email address, or phone number)

  • Health or medical information of any kind

  • IP addresses

  • Precise or approximate geolocation data

  • Device information (such as hardware model, operating system, or browser type)

  • Browsing behavior or usage analytics

  • Information submitted through contact or inquiry forms (our Website does not have such forms)

  • User-generated content of any kind

Our Website does not include user accounts, login portals, contact forms, comment sections, or any other mechanism for visitors to submit information to us.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

4a. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device to store information about your visit. Some cookies are essential to website functionality, while others are used for analytics, advertising, or personalization.

4b. Our Use of Cookies

Our Website is hosted on Squarespace. To the extent technically possible, we have disabled all non-essential cookies within our Squarespace settings, including optional analytics, performance tracking, advertising, and personalization cookies.

To the best of our knowledge, the only cookies that may be set on your device when visiting our Website are strictly necessary cookies that Squarespace uses to provide core website functionality (such as maintaining basic security and site rendering). These cookies do not track you for advertising or analytical purposes and do not collect personally identifiable information.

We do not use cookies for behavioral advertising, retargeting, or cross-site tracking of any kind.

4c. Third-Party Cookies

As our Website is hosted and operated by Squarespace, Inc., Squarespace may set certain technical cookies as part of platform operation. We have configured our Squarespace settings to minimize such cookies; however, we do not have complete control over Squarespace's underlying infrastructure. For more information about how Squarespace handles data, please review Squarespace's Privacy Policy at https://www.squarespace.com/privacy.

4d. Managing Cookies

You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies, delete existing cookies, or alert you when new cookies are placed. Please note that refusing strictly necessary cookies may affect Website functionality. Common browser cookie settings can be found at:

  • Google Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data

  • Mozilla Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data

  • Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data

  • Microsoft Edge: Settings > Cookies and Site Permissions

5. Website Hosting – Squarespace

Our Website is hosted by Squarespace, Inc., 225 Varick Street, 12th Floor, New York, NY 10014. As our hosting provider, Squarespace may collect certain technical information necessary for platform operation and security, such as server logs. This data is collected by Squarespace as a data processor acting on our behalf and in accordance with its terms of service.

We have disabled optional analytics features within our Squarespace account. Squarespace's data collection as a hosting provider is limited to what is technically necessary to deliver web content to your browser. We do not separately receive, access, or retain any visitor data from Squarespace.

For details on Squarespace’s data practices, please visit: https://www.squarespace.com/privacy

6. Children’s Privacy

Our Website is not directed to individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Because our Website does not collect personal information from any visitors, we do not collect information from children either. If you believe that a child has somehow provided personal information through our Website, please contact us using the information in Section 8 so we can address the matter.

7. Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers include a “Do Not Track” (DNT) feature that signals to websites that you do not want your online activity tracked. Because our Website does not track visitors in any manner, the presence or absence of a DNT signal does not change how our Website operates.

8. Third-Party Scheduling Tool – Google Calendar

Our Website includes an embedded Google Calendar scheduling tool that allows visitors to book a free 15-minute phone consultation to ask general questions about the professional services offered by Neurodiverse Psychological Services. Use of this scheduling tool is entirely optional. If you prefer not to use this tool, you can call us at 608-960-9550 to schedule your free 15-minute phone consultation.

8a. Information You Provide

If you choose to use the scheduling tool, the personal information you enter — which may include your name, email address, and phone number — is transmitted directly to our secure Google Workspace account. This information is used solely for the purpose of facilitating the requested phone consultation.

8b. Separation from Squarespace

Information submitted through the Google Calendar scheduling tool is processed independently by Google and is not collected, stored, or retained by Squarespace, our website hosting platform. Squarespace has no access to scheduling data you submit through this tool.

8c. HIPAA Compliance

Our Google Workspace account is configured for healthcare compliance. We maintain a signed Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with Google LLC, which legally obligates Google to protect your information in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and its implementing regulations. This ensures that the free phone consultation scheduling process is HIPAA-compliant, even though it is accessed through our public-facing Website.

8d. Google’s Privacy Practices

The collection and use of your information by Google through the scheduling tool is also subject to Google’s Privacy Policy, available at https://policies.google.com/privacy. We encourage you to review Google’s privacy practices before submitting your information through the scheduling tool.

9. Links to Other Websites

Our Website may contain links to third-party websites (for example, informational or educational resources about topics presented in our blog). This Website Privacy Policy applies only to our Website. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any third-party websites, and we encourage you to review the privacy policies of any websites you visit through links on our Website.
